This Grand Tour of Vietnam will cover the totality of Vietnam in a long-haul journey taking you from South to North of the country. This is comprehensively prepared to highlight the beauty of the hidden Vietnam. You arrive at the modern, lively city of Ho Chi Minh. As well as showing you many jewels itself, this is also a starting point for the amazing Mekong Delta area of rivers and river life. Moving north to the Central Region, you will visit the ancient capital of Hue, the blossoming town of Da Nang and the awe-inspiring preserved town of Hoi An. Moving further north, you will see rock formations unlike anything else in the world in Ha Long Bay. If you want a south to north look into the life and times of this amazing country, this is the trip for you. It shows you a range of countryside, the main ‘not to be missed’ tourist hotspots while introducing you to the culture, history and current way of life of the Vietnamese people.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival – Ho Chi Minh City (D)

Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City. Pick up and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon, take a city tour to visit Reunification Palace, War Remnants Museum, Municipal Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral and China town with Binh Tay market and Thien Hau temple. Visit a hand embroidery workshop. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City – Tay Ninh – Cu Chi – Ho Chi Minh City (B, L, D)

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning, transfer to Tay Ninh, center of the Cao Dai religion. Visit Cao Dai Holy See for the daily noontide ceremony. Afternoon, drive to Cu Chi Underground Tunnels, which is famous with over 200-km-underground tunnels hand-dug by local people during the Vietnam War. You can test your marksmanship with an AK rifle at a local rifle range (optional with surcharge). Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City – Nha Trang (B)

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning, free at leisure for shopping. Afternoon, transfer to the airport for the afternoon flight to Nha Trang. Arrive at Cam Ranh Airport. Pick up and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Nha Trang.

Day 4: Nha Trang (B, L)

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning, take a boat cruise to visit Tri Nguyen aquarium, Mun and Tam Islet. Lunch on the islet. Overnight in Nha Trang.

Day 5: Nha Trang – Da Nang – Hoi An (B)

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Cam Ranh Airport for the morning flight to Da Nang. Arrive in Da Nang. Pick up and transfer to Hoi An. Free at leisure. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 6: Hoi An (B, L)

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning, visit Hoi An ancient town with Japanese covered bridge, Phung Hung ancient house, temples, pagodas, communal houses, traditional shops, local markets and other places of interest. Afternoon relax on the beach or enjoy hotel facilities. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 7: Hoi An – Da Nang – Hue (B, L)

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning, transfer to Danang to visit Cham Museum, Marble Mountain, Non Nuoc beach. Afternoon, transfer to Hue via Hai Van Pass and Lang Co beach en route. Arrive in Hue. Free at leisure. Overnight in Hue.

Day 8: Hue (B, L)

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning, visit Imperial citadel and Dong Ba market. Afternoon, take a boat along Huong river to visit Thien Mu Pagoda and Hon Chen Temple. Visit Tomb of King Minh Mang. Overnight in Hue.

Day 9: Hue – Ha Noi (B, L, D)

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for the morning flight to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi, visit Hochiminh Mausoleum & Museum (close on Monday and Friday), One-Pillared Pagoda, house on stilts. Afternoon, visit Literature Temple, Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son temple and take a cyclo ride in the Old Quarters. Enjoy water puppet show. Overnight in Ha Noi.

Day 10: Ha Noi – Ha Long (B, L, D)

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning, transfer to Halong. Enjoy the spectacular sight of magical grottoes, marvel at odd-shaped island and relax in the best scenic beauty of Vietnam. Lunch and dinner of seafood are served while cruising. Free at leisure. Overnight on board.

Day 11: Ha Long – Ha Noi (B, L)

Take photos of sunrise, morning exercise with our Tai Chi master, a perfectly healthy way to start a new day. Enjoy your breakfast. Visit Surprising Cave – the most beautiful one in Halong Bay then back to our cruise for check-out. Keep cruising towards Ha Long Bay, passing by hundreds of islands and islets with different shapes depending on your imagination. Farewell lunch served on the cruise before you arrive at harbor. Transfer back to Ha Noi. Overnight in Ha Noi.

Day 12: Ha Noi – Departure (B)

Breakfast at the hotel. Free at leisure for relax or go shopping until transfer to the airport for the departure flight. End of service.
